Student Congress Elections
Congratulations to Stella Sappington, our new Student Congress
President, Grace Folk, Vice-President, and Clayton Nelson, Secretary.
These are our new Student Congress Officers for 2008-2009. The
voting
was extremely close in all categories. Runners-up for
President were Dillon Goss-Carpenter and Molly Houston; for Vice
President,
Katherine Coviello and Adelaide Gonick Hallows; and for Secretary,
Claire
Nelson. Each of these students prepared
posters and speeches, and displayed maturity beyond their years in the
delivery
of their speeches to the assembled intermediate student body and
several
parents.
Thanks go to Jeff Stucker and
Greg Corby for guiding the students through this process, and to the
class
representatives for their work in ranking the aspiring candidates’
action
plans.

Pine Crest Collects 900 Food Items for the Redwood Empire Food Bank
Pine Crest families stepped up to the challenge of making the
holidays a bit brighter for our neighbors in need by bringing in almost
900
boxes, cans and bottles of food for the Redwood Empire Food Bank to
distribute. We averged 4.3 food items per student schoolwide. Thanks to
fifth grader, Desta Rudoph, for organizing and promoting this
worthwhile event for our school.
