Awards for Our Children
Awards are presented to students during all-school assemblies (see Calendar for the assembly schedule). These include:
Student of the Month
The student's classroom teacher gives this recognition. It is awarded for demonstrating outstanding effort, participation and responsibility. In addition, it acknowledges the child as a positive example for other students in practicing “Life Skills” at Pine Crest School and consistently making responsible choices. The award recipient’s behavior supports our school being a safe, supportive and respectful learning environment for students, parents, and Staff.
3R's Award
The child's classroom teacher gives this award. It recognizes outstanding academic achievement, a commendable focus on learning, and leadership in the pursuit of knowledge.
B.E.S.T Award
Pine Crest's B.E.S.T. (Building Effective Schools Together) tickets are given to students who make responsible choices and do the right thing in common areas around the school campus. Weekly drawings are made in each classroom by Principal McBride from the jars where students place the B.E.S.T. tickets they have received. Students are rewarded with mechanical pencils and B.E.S.T. tags to collect and display.
Other Awards
Pine Crest students are also recognized with other awards for performance
in art or physical education.
