What happens if you/your child is tardy?
If you are late getting to school always check in at the office. Please bring a note explaining your tardiness. You will be given a pass to get to class.
What if your child is sick?
Please contact the Pine Crest Office at 829-7411 and let them know the reason for your child’s absence or send a note from home when he/she returns stating the reason for their absence. The parent or guardian must sign the note.
What are excused absences?
Absence from school shall be excused for health reasons, family emergencies and justifiable personal reasons, as permitted by law, Board Policy and administrative regulations.
How do I request homework when I'm not in school?
Please contact the office first thing in the morning at 829-7411 if you wish to request homework for that day. The homework will be in the office for you to pick up after school that day.
When should an Independent Study Contract be requested?
Students who miss school for five consecutive school days may request an Independent Study Contract. The parent, student, teacher and principal must sign this contract before your child leaves on Independent Study. This will not only allow you to keep up with your schoolwork, but it allows the school to collect some ADA (money from the State) for the days you are absent.
What if I need to take medication during the school day?
If it is necessary for a student to take a prescribed medication at school we must have a note signed by the doctor and the parent. The note must include the dosage to be administered and the time it is to be given. Medications must be labeled and in their original container. All over the counter medication must be in its original container with a note stating the time and amount to be given and signed by the parent or guardian. We have medication forms available in the office. All medications are to be kept in the school office.
How do I get a message to my child during the school day?
Please call the school at 829-7411. The office staff will get the message to your child. If it is at all possible please call the office before 12:30 so we can send the note around with the afternoon attendance check and avoid interrupting the class as much as possible.
