Dear Pine Crest Elementary School Community
As you know, student safety is a top priority at all of our schools. We are always looking at ways to improve our emergency procedures and safety protocols. As families in our District, you can support our efforts at home by discussing the importance of our Emergency Drills that we regularly practice at school. Developing and reinforcing emergency procedures for the home is also very helpful.
In addition, as you talk with your students, please remind them that they need to be mindful of the things they bring to school. Only items that are essential to the learning process should come to school with them. This will help in eliminating potentially distracting and dangerous toys, tools, pocketknives, cell phones, CD players, electronic games, and other items of this nature from being brought to Pine Crest School.
As parents, your role in our ongoing efforts in the Building an Effective School Together (B.E.S.T.) Program and increasing student safety, respect, and responsibility is a major one. By maintaining a vigilant and involved attitude with your children, your influence supports the work of our school. Together we can have a positive and significant effect on the behavior and development of all of our students! As a school community and a TEAM, our impact is strengthened by working together toward these common goals.
Finally, please continue to support your students in maintaining their focus on learning, taking full responsibility for their own behavior, and finishing the 2007-2008 school year with their strongest effort possible. We are only a few short months away from June 12, so the last day of school is just around the corner. And, while "Spring Fever" is fully upon us and the end is clearly in sight, our students must continue in their efforts to behave respectfully, stay focused on learning, and finish strong!
Respectfully,
Gratefully, Michael McBride, Principal
